Faith in who?

This week the focus of our collective prayer is Faith. The text we heard on Sunday speaks of two people being miraculously healed--one from a 12 year illness and one from death! Jesus points to faith in himself and his ability to heal as key to the miracles happening. Faith means trust. Everyone has faith. Everyone trusts. The real question is... who do you trust?

“Everyone has faith; the question is whether the object of our faith is worthy of our trust. Jesus is worthy because He is pure love, unequalled authority and infinite truth.” -Greg Mitchell

Below are some verses that you can meditate on.

Sunday Text: Luke 8:40-56

Mark 11:22-24 | 22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

1 Corinthians 2:55 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

1 Corinthians 5:77 For we live by faith, not by sight.

Luke 17:55 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!"

Experiencing God's Forgiveness

This week the focus of our collective prayer is on God's forgiveness. Have you received God's forgiveness? Do you live as a forgiven person? Are you filled with love and gratitude for this miracle? Do you view other people by their actions and appearance or through God's eyes--a son or daughter who he longs would experience his forgiveness?

Below are some verses that you can meditate on.

Sunday Text: Luke 7:36-50

"Come now, let us settle the matter," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 19

"In [Jesus] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us." Ephesians 1:1-8A

"That it, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them." 2 Corinthians 5:19
