HOPE

As you pray this week, meditate on what the bible says about HOPE. May we be moving from cynicism to faith as we are stretched to place our HOPE in God and not in ourselves or the way things appear.

Below are some verses and quotes that you can meditate on.

Psalm 42:5 | “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
Romans 4:18 | “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’”
Romans 8:24-25 | “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
1 Peter 1:3 | “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
“I have found it very important in my own life to try to let go of my wishes and instead to live in hope. I am finding that when I choose to let go of my sometimes petty and superficial wishes and trust that my life is precious and meaningful in the eyes of God something really new, something beyond my own expectations begins to happen for me.” -Henri Nouwen
